York Catholic Students Continue to Beat Provincial Averages on EQAO and OSSLT Results


According to the latest results from the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) and the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), 丝瓜视频下载 (丝瓜视频下载) students outpace their provincial peers in all areas of testing.

Reading and Writing continue to be strong areas of achievement at 丝瓜视频下载, especially in Grade 6, with 91 and 93 percent respectively, of Grade 6 students meeting or exceeding provincial standards, compared to 84 percent provincially.聽

Highlights

Grade 3, 6 and 9 EQAO results reflect the average of all in-person fully participating students who met or exceeded provincial expectations. It does not include students who provided no data due to absence, medical reasons, etc. Students enrolled in remote-learning classrooms were excluded from participating in the EQAO assessments unless they attended in-person for the assessment.

In 2023, 97 percent of our Grade 3 students and 97 percent of our Grade 6 students participated in the EQAO assessments. 93 percent of our Grade 9 students participated in the math assessment. 97 percent of our students eligible to take the Literacy Test for the first time participated. Successful completion of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test is one of 32 requirements students must meet to graduate and obtain a high school diploma.
